“Bicycle Kick” pays tribute to the soccer legend, Pelé. To perform a bicycle kick, perfect precision and accuracy is needed, the kind that is also needed as an artist for some work. Although Pelé didn’t invent this soccer move, no one made it look as smooth as he did. This painting pays tribute to that iconic moment, respect to Brazil, and respect to a sport that is able to unite people and promote a collective identity.
